DeAnn L. Farthing, Esq.


DeAnn L. Farthing, a life-long Indiana resident, is the founder of Farthing Legal LLC.  After graduating with two Bachelor of Arts degrees from Indiana University at Indianapolis, DeAnn pursued her passion for law.  She earned her Juris Doctorate from the McKinney School of Law at Indiana University – Indianapolis.   


DeAnn has been engaged in the legal profession in various capacities.  She began her legal career by serving as a legal assistant for the Hensley Legal Group.   She continued her legal pursuits by working for several area law firms.  Her winsome personality, excellent communication skills and legal background gave her the opportunity to join the Office of the Mayor for the City of Indianapolis in 2008.  While there, she was invited to the Mayor's Leadership Conference.   DeAnn provided research related to private and public charter schools which ultimately led to effective strategies for replicating charter school structures.  As a well-respected attorney, DeAnn has also had the honor of sitting as a Judge Pro Tem for a Marion County Court. 


DeAnn’s firm, Farthing Legal, focuses on meeting the legal needs of both businesses and individuals. DeAnn has represented clients all over the State of Indiana in more than half of all Indiana county courts.  Having served as legal counsel for more than 50 business clients in the Indianapolis and surrounding area, she keeps abreast of changes in the law that may affect business operations.  DeAnn strives to provide small and medium businesses with economic and efficient solutions to all their legal needs. 


In addition to serving business owners, DeAnn works to educate individuals in all stages of life on the importance of estate planning.  She daily provides information to interested clients that answer "what if" questions.  Further, her experience enables her to guide individuals through the probate process after the death of a loved one.  Her goal is to make the emotionally charged process as easy and economical as possible. 


DeAnn focuses her practice of law to the areas of estate planning, probate, corporate formation and general business litigation and operation.  She desires to educate her clients on how and why to plan for the future in all aspects of life and business.  DeAnn works hard for her clients and values the trust they place in her.  


DeAnn currently lives in Fishers with her husband and three young children.  She enjoys spending time with her family and attending College Park Church - Fishers.
